Well this is my first entry on live journal, yay!
I guess I joined this because my friend Kelly did, hahaha, and I read his and I liked how I could let everyone know what I am up to by posting these messages! It's mostly for my family back home so they can see and read all the trouble I am getting up too. :)

Things here with me are good! School started last week, my last year at U of C. Class of 2007, with a BFA in Drama. It's exciting, thinking about finally being able to get out into the community and contribute to society and make money. What a wonderufl thought! School is going to be great this years, I've got my hand in as many cookie jars as possible. I am taking five classes, including a senior directing class where I get to direct a one-act in the student festival at the end of the year. I am also doing some production management for the school so I am running the third mainstage. As well, I'm doing Nickle and Dime, our student run production company, producing the lunch time shows. Plus I'm still designing the make up for all the mainstages. I'm on the Drama Undergraduate Society as well, and I auditioned for the first mainstage last week and low and behold, I got in! So what a busy first week and an even busier first year. But an important thing I did learn this summer at SITP was to remain positive or at least keep up appearances of positivity, because ultimately it makes a big difference. I honnestly am really excited about all the cool stuff I'm involved with.

The show that I got into is going to be great, it's "BAAL" by Brecht, and the director is Fenton. He's a grad student, and I like him. I don't know him that well, but what I do know is that he's ridiculously opposed to naturalism on stage and has a very loose directing style. However, I also know that all the shows I've seen him do, I've really really enjoyed. So in the show, I have three smaller parts, I'm playing a landlady, but don't worry, she'll be saucy! I'm also playing a soubrette, which is like a french-burlesque-vaudeville type actress, and finally, Maja, who runs the tavern that's next to the hospital, so basically it's the place where people with syphillis drink their whiskey.

Doing Brecht is pretty full circle for me. It's funny because in first year, my dad told me to do a project on Mother Courage. So I did, and then I liked the play enough so that for the rest of the year I only did projects, papers or assignments on either Brecht or Mother Courage. The joke was that I would become the world's foremost authority on Brecht, just because I had never bothered to study anybody else.

It's cold here, really windy and cold. It's been snowing on and off. We've been taking Fraggle on rollarblades lately (as in, Braden rollarblades and Fraggle sprints, not Fraggle on rollarblades) and that's working well because it wears him out ridiculouly.

Anyways, things are great and I am going to run. Braden and I are going to go to dinner and then to the movies. We're going to see Little Miss Sunshine and I can't wait!
